EBTIC SPL Project has been shortlisted in Pitch AT Palace UAE event

Team members of SPLEBTIC SPL project has been shortlisted in the “Pitch@Palace UAE” competition following a presentation given by the project leader, Salwa Mohamed Alzahmi, to a prestigious judging panel from Khalifa Fund and “Pitch@Palace Global”. 75 participants pitched their projects, hoping to be selected to go forward to the final event of this prestigious contest taking place at Emirates Palace on October 4th, under the Patronage of H.H Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and in the presence of H.R.H Prince Andrew Duke Of York.

Being a part of “Pitch@Palace”, the shortlisted participants will get the opportunity of attending the one-day workshop on October 2nd, as a preparation for the final event. Prince Andrew will attend the workshop and will help participants on pitching their projects, by providing feedback on all of the presentations. 

Being a finalist in this prestigious event will further raise the profile of EBTIC SPL project, and will support the current commercialization initiatives, led by EBTIC and Khalifa Innovation Center (KIC). EBTIC SPL Project is a software governance platform that provides IT Management technology to assist the development and maintenance of software system within the organization. During this project, the EBTIC team collaborated with British Telecom (BT) on trialing and demonstrating its business value. If Salwas project is chosen as a winner during the event in October, she will then have the chance to present her project at the “Pitch@Palace Global” event, to be held at Buckingham Palace, London on December 6th, in the presence of members of the British Royal Family. 

“Pitch@Palace Global” was founded by the Duke of York in 2014 to support entrepreneurs by providing a platform dedicated to accelerating and scaling early-stage entrepreneurial businesses. “Pitch@Palace Global”, through “Pitch@Palace UAE”, will support Emirati entrepreneurs to grow their business networks and audience. His Royal Highness is very pleased to bring the unique formula to the UAE and to partner with His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. Following the celebration of the launching of this initiative, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said, “We welcome such qualitative and creative initiatives that will enhance the possibilities and capabilities of Entrepreneurs and give them the opportunity to benefit from prestigious international expertise in various fields.”

The partnership between government, industry and academia that is at the core of EBTIC’s modus operandi gives it unique characteristics and enable it to produce ICT and Next Generation Networks research and innovation output that delivers value add and business benefits to the UAE, the partners and beyond. Hence, EBTIC contributes directly or indirectly to the UAE national ICT capabilities through Etisalat, Khalifa University and other UAE based partners as well as to the advancement of research globally through BT and other international collaborations.
