EBTIC present a series of knowledge calls to BT Applied Research

Over the last few weeks, some of the EBTIC team have presented to BT Applied Research colleagues.  Dr Nawaf Almoosa, Acting Director EBTIC and Ahmad Al-Rubaie, Head of Strategy presented on human activity detection using Wi-Fi signals and also multimodal social media analytics respectively. More recently, Dr. Dymitr Ruta, Chief Researcher presented on predictive feature engineering for massively scalable machine learning. In total, more than 200 people joined the three sessions, and there was a high level of interaction and potential future collaborations. 

BT Applied Research is located at BT’s main research and development centre in Adastral Park in Suffolk, UK, and is home to over 3,700 of BT's top scientists, engineers and business people. Many of these employees are world leaders in their specialist fields, working at the forefront of new technologies and standards development in areas such as broadband applications and services, IP and data networks, IT, mobility and converged services, network design and management, and business applications and services. EBTIC works collaboratively with the research themes in BT Applied Research providing research and helping to develop innovative technological ideas and solutions that translate into practical and marketable solutions for the business.
