Dr. Samer Al-Samahi


Before, Dr. Samer Al-Samahi was the Director of EBTIC, as well as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Khalifa University. He received his PhD degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Newcastle, UK in 2010 , MSc degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2005, and Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from Khalifa University (formerly known as Etisalat College of Engineering), UAE in 2002. He successively received a distinction scholarship to complete his postgraduate studies. Also in 2011, he received Sheikh Rashid Award for academic excellence.

Dr. Alsamahi is a member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and recently appointed to serves as Vice Chair for IEEE computer chapter within the UAE region. His research interests include Modulation and coding, information theory, capacity-approaching error-correcting codes, and cooperative communications.
