Khalifa University and EBTIC Host Etisalat Session on Careers in AI

6th of April, 2021

EBTIC have delivered bespoke AI/ML/Big Data training sessions to the team, and have supervised and collaborated with them to develop and deploy live use cases, that have delivered real-world business value.

EBTIC felt that the experience of the AI Team, made up of recent Emirati graduates in Etisalat, would be of enormous benefit to the student body of Khalifa University, as they consider the paths of their future careers. EBTIC, Khalifa University and Etisalat collaborated to deliver an extremely interesting and successful workshop entitled “Embarking on a Career in AI – How Etisalat have supported graduates career ambitions”. This was followed by Mr. Joseph’s talk on AI and learning, where he talked about the ‘Power Skills’ that companies are looking for in the individuals that they employ, and how Etisalat use a new AI-powered platform called iQra to help develop their employees.

Following this, Prof. Ernesto Damiani, Professor, Director of Information Security Center Electrical and Computer Engineering and EBTIC, explained the AI offerings due to be provided by Khalifa University, including the new MSc in Computer Science, the MSC in Computational Data Science, and also the MSc in Cyber Security, all due to be available later in 2021.
